About the Event:
This event is part of our wider August Wild Weekend event at Attenborough Nature Reserve.
Join us for a warm, welcoming and adventure-filled woodland stay and play session for under 5s at Attenborough Nature Reserve!
These relaxed 2-hour sessions take place in our dedicated Education Wood - a safe, secure and inspiring outdoor space where little ones can explore, imagine, and connect with nature in the heart of the beautiful reserve.
Your ticket includes a snack for each child, plus a hot drink and biscuit for accompanying adults.
Each session is themed around a children’s book and offers plenty of opportunities for open-ended play, creativity and discovery, including:
Nature-inspired crafts
Seasonal activities
Bushcraft skills and simple tool use
Mud kitchen fun
Campfire cooking
Mindfulness and forest-bathing
Minibeast hunts
Sensory play trays
…and lots more!
Where to Meet:
Please gather by the picnic benches in front of Attenborough Nature Centre (NG9 6DY).

Weather:
We embrace the outdoors in every season and aim to run sessions in all weathers. Sessions will only be cancelled in the event of very high winds or heavy snow.
What to wear
Please ensure both you and your child are dressed appropriately for the weather. As the sessions take place in woodland, we recommend wellies, thermal boots, or sturdy walking boots. Layering is essential during autumn and winter. A waterproof coat or all-in-one is advised!
Expect mud, water, and paint, so please avoid wearing anything that can’t get messy.
