All Saints Church Ridgmont Open Days

Heritage Open Day: A rare opportunity to see inside one of Bedfordshire’s premier landmarks and places of worship. Rich in history and architectural splendour. All Saints Church Ridgmont was built in 1855, based on a design by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the architect of St Mary’s Cathedral, Edinburgh and the Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras Railway Station amongst many other fine Gothic Revival buildings. With its tall spire and prominent position on top of the Rouge Mont, french for red hill, the church can be seen from miles around. It was here that the Reverend Charles William Frederick Cavendish-Bentinck was the serving minister when his wife gave birth to Cecilia Nina Bowes-Lyon (nee Cavendish-Bentinck) in 1862, the maternal great grandmother of King Charles III.
