Heritage Open Day: Celebrate Heritage Open Days at Navigation House with the special launch of our new exhibition on Sir Joseph Banks, famous naturalist and local supporter of the Sleaford Navigation. We will be offering free themed activities, and a new trail! Sir Joseph Banks was a famous naturalist, botanist, and patron of the natural sciences. He is most famous for his place on the 1766 natural-history expedition to Newfoundland and Labrador, on the HMS Endeavour with Captain James Cook. However many people don't realise that he was a Lincolnshire man, raised at his father's nearby estate in Revesby.
