Meadowhall Jobs Fair returns next week alongside new Retail Ready prog
Meadowhall is bringing back its Jobs Fair this month, giving people across Sheffield and Yorkshire the chance to meet employers face-to-face and find out about current and future vacancies.
The event takes place on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th September, 10am to 7pm, at The Oasis Dining Quarter Mezzanine on the Upper Level, where brand representatives will discuss vacancies and answer jobseekers’ questions.
Among the retailers and restaurant operators taking part are M&S, JD Sports and McDonald’s, with opportunities spanning full-time, part-time and seasonal roles across retail, hospitality and customer service.
New for this year, Meadowhall has also partnered with Jobcentre Plus to deliver a Retail Ready Programme at the centre, designed to help 16 to 24-year-olds prepare for employment ahead of the Jobs Fair.
Taking place from 21st to 25th September, the sessions hosted by Jobcentre Plus will cover key employability skills through workshops, practical activities and expert guidance. The programme is designed to help participants build the confidence and knowledge needed to succeed in the workplace and provide support ahead of attending the Jobs Fair.
This programme forms part of Meadowhall's support for the government's Youth Guarantee, a national initiative to tackle youth unemployment by ensuring every young person has access to education, training or a job offer.
