Prestbury Choral Society Spring Concert

Prestbury Choral Society have a ‘spring (concert) in their step! The society will perform Bob Chilcott’s moving and personal Requiem. Featuring a Soprano soloist and music for choir, organ and instrumental ensemble, this piece pays subtle homage to Faure and Durufle. Mendelssohn’s Lauda Sion is unjustly neglected, being rather overshadowed by Elijah, but it is an exceptional work, sometimes exultant, even ecstatic, and full of melodic brilliance, something not to be missed.
