The Fron as they are affectionately known are an amateur male voice choir that hails from the village of Froncysyllte, in North Wales in the UK. Froncysyllte can be found a couple of miles down the A5 from Llangollen, home to the world-famous International Music Eisteddfod.
Froncysyllte is also part of a World Heritage Site that includes Sir Thomas Telford’s Pontcysyllte Aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Cannal across the valley from Trevor to Froncysyllte.
The choir has a proud history, they were formed in 1947 to compete at the Llangollen Eisteddfod and hav. since had success in competitions throughout the UK & Europe.
They are however probably better known for their series of 5 CDs under the theme of Voices of the Valley. Their CDs have been awarded Gold and Platinum Disks, are sold in over 90 countries & tracks appear on 94 compilation CDs worldwide.
The choir rehearse at Acrefair Primary School, LL14 3SH on Mon & Thurs 7 till 9 new members and visitors welcome.
