The church is not normally open except for services, so this is a rare opportunity for visitors to view it from the inside. St Anne's Chapel was built in 1481; the adjoining alms-houses were added in 1561 and partially rebuilt in 1907. Today, St Anne's is home to the Orthodox Parish of the Holy Prophet Elias.
