Our Cultural Heart, Queensgate, Huddersfield HD1 2UJ Heritage Open Day: Former Queensgate Market building being transformed into a vibrant new food hall, library and public square. Opened in 1970, the former Queensgate Market building is undergoing a significant redevelopment as part of Kirklees Council’s Our Cultural Heart scheme. The former market hall is being reimagined as a new food hall as well as a new glass-fronted library. Connecting the two will be an attractive new public square.
