Downham Grange care home was built in October 2013 on the former estate of Clackclose House. This original ornate mansion, nestled in ten acres in the early 1900s. The first occupants were local solicitor Harry Reginald Bland Wayman (later Lt-Colonel Wayman DSO) and his wife Elsie and they lived there until after the end of the Great War before moving to Denver Hall.
