St Peter's Church and Bell Tower

On the climb you will pass the Victorian clock mechanism and the bells that mark the quarter hours plus the hour chimes. A curfew bell ringer will be in attendance to assist with information. St Peter's is the only church in the UK that rings a curfew bell by hand. Thirty one volunteers take a day each every month. The Tower climb has a tight spiral stair to the first floor where a modern stair leads to the viewing gallery. There are 2 levels where visitors can rest if needed. You can see France on a good day. The church is open most days as a charity shop with lots to see, also has a coffee shop with tables inside and outside in lovely grounds. There church has a lot of history too... READ MORE>
