The aim of this workshop is to provide a supportive and fun experience where you will learn new, or revive previous, linocut printmaking skills . The resulting colourful prints can be used for pictures, cards, bookmarks and artists’ books or as a basis for further experimentation.

We will have a number of events as well as a Dark Sky Exhibition showcasing the images from in and round the Estate as well as the wider world.
Our Visitor Centre is packed with local crafters and artists offering handmade jewellery, wildlife art, wooden crafts, paintings, craft demonstrations, up-cycled products, and traditional Welsh crafts. Parents browse at your leisure thanks to our children’s craft table. Held at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre.
Peter Loughran of Powys Ramblers will lead a 7.5 mile moderate circular walk around Carn Gafallt and Coed y Mynach from the Visitor Centre. Some tarmac walking on quiet lanes. Some climbs involved. Join our Rangers at one of our big Dam Open Days - an exclusive chance to venture into Pen y Garreg Dam and up to the central tower. You’ll enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the dam wall – and learn about the feat of engineering that made Elan.
Led by Joy Powell, a local silver jewellery designer/maker & teacher. Using a range of hammers, punches and other texturing techniques, learn how to create some unusual jewellery and other items in sterling silver and copper using traditional skills. No experience necessary.

The show is managed by the Brecon & Borders Welsh Pony & Cob Breeders Association. The show is a WPCS Silver Medal show and has foal classes for Welsh Section As, Bs, Cs, Ds, riding ponies and Welsh part breeds.

Meet the artist: Tony will be at Bleddfa on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st Oct between 1pm and 4pm, demonstrating the art of throwing pots. Have a chat with him and watch him in action! Tony is part of Castlehillarts with Professor Anthony Collier and Lois Hopwood.
The day will be spent setting out and painting the text ‘In the hills I study peace’ - or you may wish to bring your own choice of text of about the same length. Participants will have a work to take home which may be framed and hung as a picture; and an insight towards another way of making a piece of art.
