Bugs Alive at Oxford Castle - Unlocked

This is a Past Event and has been Archived.

As a 1000-year-old former prison, Oxford Castle – Unlocked is no stranger to bugs and all things creepy crawly. This February half term, get up close to a selection of the world’s most unusual and fascinating creatures when ‘Bugs Alive’ worms its way up to Oxford Castle – Unlocked. On display will be some of the world’s most peculiar species, including terrifying tarantulas, massive Madagascan hissing cockroaches, giant African millipedes and an Emperor Scorpion. The week’s activities include a picture bug trail through the ancient castle and prison, discovering which bugs would have kept the prisoners company during their stay. Children can also get creative, designing bugs of their own as part of a range of arts and crafts available in the prison gallery.

Attraction open from 10am (the last tour runs at 4.20pm). Bugs Alive activities are free with entry to Oxford Castle - Unlocked, or £4 to enjoy the activities only. Call 01865 260 666 for further information or visit www.oxfordcastleunlocked.co.uk

Every event on WhereCanWeGo has been added by the organisers themselves, so you get a really good feel for what events are about.
If you're organising a public event, you can promote it for FREE by registering here ~ it works so well.
Don't take our word. See what our organisers say:
"One of our homes had a Red Cross Open day recently and 30% of the visitors had seen the event listed on your site" - Wellburn.
"Our event was a success due in no small part to your inclusion of it and the fact that yours was the first entry in an internet search for the title of the exhibition. The days of chasing after printed media coverage are over. Where Can We Go gave us excellent coverage and and we would be happy to recommend your service to organisations large and small." - Jock, Herald Events.
