Spirit is a free street theatre show which takes place every winter in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. This year’s Spirit event, called ‘Peixos’, will once again feature the fantastic mechanical animals of Spanish performers Sarruga, who wowed audiences with their fire-breathing dragons two years ago. This water-themed spectacle features magical shoals of fish, jellyfish, whales and sharks. Spectators will follow a procession of underwater discovery which leads to a thrilling climax with the appearance of a rather menacing shark – complete with snapping jaws and fearsome teeth! The show will begin at 7.30pm with a procession around the town centre streets, before heading to Longcauseway for the final showdown
