Heritage Open Day: We are just beginning to bring this lovely old house back to life. There has been a building on the site since 1228. The present, largely 17th century, house is unfurnished and has been empty since it ceased to be a nursing home in the late 1990s, but still retains historical features and has fascinating stories to tell. The tranquil walled gardens are best known for their herb garden and orchards with a collection of local apple varieties; beyond the walls a network of paths
