BACH AND THE LUTE William Carter, a founder member of the much admired Palladian Ensemble, appears on numerous recordings with period orchestras across the UK playing lute, theorbo and guitar. Today we have the pleasure of hearing him perform one of the most complex of musical genres, J S Bach’s music for lute – rarely heard – but as intensely beautiful as the more famous cello suites. more

The RNLI Humber Bridge Abseil on Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 May 2012. This unique event will be the first time the bridge has been abseiled since 2007, and will be the only time this year that you get the chance to take on this incredible adrenaline experience.
