Hollins Farm Walk – Farming Landscapes 2012
Hollins Farm has been lived in and worked by the Rawlings family since the 16th century. There will be plenty of lambs to see and perhaps a newborn calf. There are also a number of bird species that nest on the farm and farmer Will Rawling will explain the farming year and its links with nature’s cycle. Today he farms upland beef and sheep. Galesyke - Open Garden for NGS
Partially landscaped garden of several acres on banks of R Irt with views of Wasdale Fells, noted for its display of rhododendrons and azaleas. During the November 2009 floods the garden suffered some damage; the beds immediately adjacent to the river were completely washed away; and further downstream, several trees were lost. This damage will not have been made good in time for the garden.. more

A fun afternoon kicking off with buffet food followed by many traditional fete games to pay and play including pin the tail on the corgi, spin the wheel, Hook-a-Duck, a Coconut Shy plus much more! Muncaster Jubilee Festival
Including the World famous Festival of Fools. These 5 days of foolish Jubilee frivolity will include the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday 3rd, a concert with the firing of Muncaster’s Jubilee Cannons and Beacons on Monday 4th and many fools and jesters to entertain the crowds daily. The Festival finishes with the International Jesters Tournament when the Fool of Muncaster 2012 will be crowned. more
