Steppingley Village Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Steppingley is a picturesque Bedfordshire village on the Greensand ridge, close to Ampthill, Flitwick and Woburn. Although a few older buildings survive, most of Steppingley was built by 7th Duke of Bedford between 1840 and 1872. Four gardens in the village offer an interesting mix of planting styles and design to include pretty court yards, cottage garden style perennial borders, ponds, a well, glass houses, an orchard, vegetable gardens, a herb garden, wild life havens and country views. Live stock include chickens, ducks and fish.
