Steppingley Village Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Steppingley is a picturesque Bedfordshire village on the Greensand Ridge, close to Ampthill, Flitwick and Woburn. Although a few older buildings survive, most of Steppingley was built by the 7th Duke of Bedford between 1840 and 1872. Eight gardens in the village offer an interesting mix of planting styles and design to inc pretty courtyards, cottage garden style perennial borders, ponds, a Victorian well, glasshouses, an orchard, vegetable gardens, a herb garden, wildlife havens and country views. Livestock inc chickens, ducks and fish.
