Lunchtime Classics: Phillip Dyson
A lunchtime concert by international concert pianist Phillip Dyson brings a characteristically eclectic mix of popular works to the Music in Pinner season. Pieces by Schubert, Chopin, Brahms, Sinding, Ravel & Debussy are woven through with others by Scott Joplin, Billy Mayerl, Jerome Kern, Zez Confrey – with Gershwin to straddle these sound-worlds. The evocative titles include: bouquet, syncopation, noble waltz, nocturne, ballade, impromptu, rhapsody, rustle of spring, moonlight, paradise, and dizzy fingers. Come along to discover why Phillip’s concerts evoke descriptions such as: “refined pianism”, “magnificent finger-work”, and “flawless sensitivity”.
