'I got me flowers' choral concert with Harborough Singers
I got me flowers
An evening of music by English composers, performed by the Harborough Singers
The Harborough Singers will perform a concert of English choral music at All Saint’s Church, Brixworth on Saturday March 18th.
Based just over the border in Market Harborough, this choir is one of the foremost in the East Midlands, drawing its membership from both sides of the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire divide.
The title of the concert, ‘I got me flowers’, comes from one of Vaughan Williams ‘Five Mystical Songs’, which will form the centrepiece of the evening. Music by Tallis, Byrd, Wesley, Parry and Stanford, all of whom had a hand in the making of Vaughan Williams, English icon, will also be performed.
Conductor will be Charlie Penn, baritone soloist Angus Mcphee, and accompanist Andrew King
The concert starts at 7.30 pm and tickets are £12.50 from Lovell’s Hardware, Brixworth, or from www.harboroughsingers.com
