East Haddon Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
The pretty village of East Haddon dates back to the Norman invasion. The oldest surviving building is St Mary's, a C12 church. The village has many thatched cottages built in the local honey-coloured ironstone. Other features inc a thatched village pump and fire station which used to house a hand drawn pump and is now used as the bus shelter. The gardens opening this yr are a mixture of small, mature and family gardens with some having beautiful views across rolling hills. They are bursting with rare and unusual plants, various shrubs, climbers, roses and perennials. Borders galore, vegetable beds, espaliered fruit trees, and woodland areas.
