The New Caister Lifeboat boat talk and tour
Heritage Open Day: In 2024, Caister Lifeboat welcomed its new Medina Class lifeboat into service as part of a £3.3m upgrade to lifesaving equipment at the station. Our volunteers will be able to take visitors on a tour of the vessel. Our team of volunteers will be able to talk to you and show you around our new lifeboat, the one-off design called the Medina Class lifeboat. Designed by our senior crew and a naval architect, she is a significant upgrade on the Valentijn Class Lifeboat which entered service in 2004. Visitors will be able to have a tour of the vessel (although short-notice cancellations may be necessary in the event of an emergency).
