Whalley Abbey
Heritage Open Day: On Whalley Day 14 September you can visit Whalley Abbey ruins and gardens and find information about the medieval Cistercian monastery as well as the retreat and conference house from the 16th century. Only the chapel is open in the house. You can visit the grounds of Whalley Abbey any day but on Whalley day 14 September volunteers will be telling about the history and giving out information. There will be stalls, refreshments and entertainment. The chapel is open to visitors and prayer times are at 8am, 12.30pm and 5.30pm. It is also possible to book to stay at our beautiful, historic house.
