Heritage Open Day: Explore inside this landmark Stockport building and learn about its history and that of the church community that meets there. See our special display about Stockport in 1875 to mark 150 years since the first Christadelphian meeting in the building. Opened as a school in 1857 by Major Henry Coppock, Stockport's first Town Clerk, the building has served as a place of worship since at least 1875, including a short period as Stockport's first Jewish synagogue. It is situated on the boundary of the Dodge Hill Conservation Area, one of the last surviving examples of a Victorian neighbourhood in Stockport.
Since the building was constructed the surrounding area has changed dramatically.
