St Annes Almshouses

Heritage Open Day: St. Anne’s Hospital was founded by Lady Anne Clifford in 1653 and for more than 350 years, ageing, widowed, or single ladies have lived there rent free. The building is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England. The Almshouses are currently undergoing a major refurbishment project and, depending on builders' schedules, it is hoped that some parts will be open to the public to see the improvements that have been made so far. The Chapel is closed for the duration of the refurbishment work.
