Heritage Open Day: A rare opportunity to visit the miniature world of Pendon Museum for FREE for three days only! Explore the 1930s countryside of the Vale of White Horse and other rural scenes in outstanding miniature with model trains running as usual. Open for FREE on weekend 12th & 13th and Wed 16th September 2026 from 11:00 - 16:00.
At Pendon Museum explore three exquisite miniature scenes depicting English rural life and transport in the 1930s.
The Vale Scene: Renown for its detail and craftmanship, the main Vale scene reproduces in miniature the beauty of the English countryside around 1930. Exquisitely modelled cottages, farms, fields and chalky lanes plied by horse-drawn transport recall the quiet charm of the Vale of White Horse nearly a century ago.
