Prestbury Choral Society Summer Concert
Prestbury Choral Society has a wonderful concert coming up to celebrate the King’s Coronation and birthday. Handel’s glorious Zadok the Priest anthem which accompanied the anointing of King Charles is a triumphant, majestic piece, culminating in shouts of joy, always a pleasure to sing and to listen to. Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens, a poem by Milton set to music, is another popular piece, not least because at times it ‘raises the roof’ making it such fun to sing. Haydn’s Little Organ Mass is, as its title implies, a small, intimate mass, perfect for Prestbury Choral Society to sing in the beautiful church of St Bartholomew’s. We are so enjoying rehearsing this amazingly uplifting music, and we do hope you will be able to join us on the 17th June to celebrate with us.
7.30pm. Tickets: £12.00 including glass of wine or soft drink and mince pie. Available in advance by telephone on 07775 586416, via our website www.prestburychoral.uk, or pay at the door.
