Dean Heritage Centre

Heritage Open Day: Dean Heritage Centre, set in a tranquil valley, holds many records of the social and industrial history of the Forest of Dean. There is normally a charge for admission to meet running costs but for Heritage Open Days 2024 this is waived for one day. The Dean Heritage Centre was set up originally by local people in 1979 in response to public concern that the heritage of the Forest of Dean was disappearing. The Museum was actually opened in 1983, transforming a former corn mill. Major refurbishment was undertaken with finance provided through the Heritage Lottery Fund, this being completed in 2003.
The Trust is always looking for new volunteers to help keep this local asset. This special day gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy all there is to offer.
