11 Spencer Square - where Vincent lodged

Heritage Open Day: Visit the bedroom where Vincent Van Gogh once stayed. The great artist Vincent Van Gogh came to Ramsgate as a young man of 23 in 1876, long before he became a working artist. He was an assistant teacher at a small boarding school nearby, and lodged at 11 Spencer Square, with another teacher and some of the older boys. You can visit his bedroom as part of the Ramsgate Heritage Open Days.
