Howden Masonic Hall

Heritage Open Day: Take a look inside the Masonic Hall at the Architecture, and meet with members who will explain the Fraternity, its history and the charitable giving made to both members and other outside organisations. Enjoy a leisurely tour of the Masonic Temple and learn all about the fixtures and fittings and their relevance to Freemasonry in Howden. Freemasonry came to Howden in 1854 and in 1858 permission was granted to hold its meetings on the Thursday on or before the full moon, a tradition which continues to this day.
The Lodge is a unique members' organisation which has thrived for over three hundred years. We have no political or religious affiliations and comprise of members of all ages, race, religious and cultural backgrounds.
