Howdenshire’s Fascinating Archaeology

Heritage Open Day: Learn about the archaeology and history of local sites – Howden, Hook and beyond. Join members of the Howdenshire Archaeological Society at this drop-in event.
Displays will show the details and finds from current and previous investigations, including West Cowick mill and local moated manor sites. Non-invasive archaeology and in-depth historical research are part of our ongoing graveyard survey at Hook Church. You will have the opportunity of handling finds, and discussing our work with our friendly members. There will be a short illustrated talk at noon which will showcase our activities.
