Cawood Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Two contrasting gardens in an attractive historic village linked by a pretty riverside walk to the C11 church and memorial garden and across the Castle Garth to the remains of Cawood Castle. 9 Anson Grove is a small garden with tranquil pools and secluded seating areas. Narrow winding paths lead to views of the oriental-style pagoda, bridge and Zen garden. 21 Great Close is a flower arranger's garden designed and built by the owners. Interesting trees and shrubs combine with herbaceous borders inc many types of grass.Two ponds are joined by a stream, winding paths lead to the vegetable garden and summerhouse, then back to the colourful terrace for views across the garden and countryside beyond.
Sat 9, Sun 10 July (12-5). Combined adm £6, Children free. Home-made teas. Times:12:00 to 17:00. Open for charity.
