Footsteps of Furniss

Heritage Open Day: Explore fascinating photographs of Hillsborough Park and the surrounding area taken by accomplished photographer William T. Furniss over 100 years ago. Enjoy a performance by Loxley Silver Band and get creative! William T. Furniss was an accomplished photographer who captured views of Sheffield and local people over 100 years ago. He is buried in Wardsend Cemetery, a hidden haven rich in heritage and nature, just 15 minutes walk from Hillsborough Park.

Start at Hillsborough Park where the Friends of Wardsend Cemetery will showcase Furniss' photographs in a booklet that also encourages a self-guided walk from Hillsborough Park to Wardsend Cemetery Heritage Park.
