Blue Prescribing Project
Sat 1 January - Sat 31 December (Tue only)
Blue Prescribing Project Delivered with Mental Health Foundation
Our research has shown that simply being in nature for ten minutes can have a beneficial effect on people self-reporting stress. But nature isn’t always easy to access, and you may not know where to start.
This is where the Blue Prescribing Project (BPP) comes in. If you or someone you know are experiencing mental or emotional ill health, loneliness, or difficulties finding meaningful social connection, and live somewhere with little access to nature, this free programme could help you reconnect to the natural world and improve your wellbeing.
The Blue Prescribing Project is actively taking referrals, and self- referrals from those living in London. For more information download the leaflet here.
The Blue Prescribing Project is delivered in a peer support setting where clients explore a 6 week mental health and blue spaces course combined with onsite nature based activities including bird watching, pond dipping, and sensory activities.
The project aims to promote a range of mental and physical health benefits through a variety of wetland nature activities, which are designed in consultation with the clients. The project aims to develop social connections, improve client’s self-confidence, overall mental health and well-being by connecting people to wetlands.
Our current programme is scheduled for Tuesdays but please note that we can accommodate groups on different days to suit individual’s needs, please enquire about this at point of referral.
