I just love this site I did a charity gig and advertised it on this site and we raised £1000 which was helped by the people who turned up from this ad. Great site please don't change its great for clubs such as us who cannot afford an advertising budget.
- Janet, Whitmore Reans Conservative Club.

The aim of WhereCanWeGo.com is to inform everyone of the wealth of
possibilities in their local area: music and theatre, talks and walks, fetes
and festivals, sports and markets, courses and conservation: all sorts of
activities and events for all sorts of tastes. There are many, many family and community events and activities that receive insufficient
support because of lack of publicity. Too often the posters on notice boards
and in shop windows are not seen by enough people, and many, who may be keenly
interested, are not even aware of what they have missed.
All our event entries are posted by local organisers;
the service is free and is as simple to use as we can make it. Once registered,
organisers can add any number of events at any number of locations. They can
update the details as often as required. When the event is over it is deleted
from the listings automatically. There is an option to pay a small fee to
highlight your entry and/or link it to your own website.
Visitors can select a postcode, town or county and see
all the events in the area, or they can be more selective by choosing
particular dates and interests. Events are listed closest-first so you can view
a wider and wider area by clicking "Next Page". We encourage visitors to search
for all types of events as you never know what you may be missing. If you are
visiting somewhere in the UK on holiday then use the site to check what's on in
your holiday area. To help plan, events are posted up to a year ahead and
organisers are encouraged to post as early as possible.
If you have a local area website then you may consider
setting a personalised link to WhereCanWeGo.com that will preset a postcode at
the centre of your community. Your visitors can get one-click access to
up-to-date local information about what's on, and local organisers can use it as a free
publicity resource targeted at the local audience.
As founders of WhereCanWeGo.com our aim is to
contribute, in some small way, to revitalising communities by communicating the
wealth of activities and interests available on your doorstep, perhaps also
reducing wasteful travel in the process.
Kimble Earl and John South - Joint Founders of WhereCanWeGo.com
